Our favorite Christmas cookie

I have written before about the tradition of making what we call Christmas horns, a family recipe handed for generations from the old country (Moravia).

Use a sifter or strainer to dust lightly with powdered sugar.

I experimented in my latest batch by reducing the amount of sugar in the cookies by half (the dusting of powdered confection as shown above seems to be plenty).

At any rate, give them a try. They have become Sherry’s favorite Christmas cookie, just as her Mauritian dish of Briani has become my favorite meal.
